Whip Crackin’ Part 2

December 13, 2012 by John Leave a Comment

Practicing with my Downunder Horsemanship Aussie Stock whip. A follow up to my earlier video on Whip Crackin’. I’ve watched the video and read up about it on the internet. It’s not as easy as it looks, folks. I still occasionally whack myself and sometimes my horse. A quick little update to show you how my Quarter Horse Jessie is handling the crackin’.

Team Sorting No Worries Club Members

December 12, 2012 by John Leave a Comment

A number of No Worries Club Members participated in a team sorting practice at Rancho Rio Stables in Bakersfield. We are new to the sport of team sorting and so are our horses. It was great having the support of fellow No Worries Club members out there who understood where we were at in our horse training. It was a fun day and you can get the feel for the attraction to team sorting.

December 12, 2012 by John Leave a Comment

Ever wonder what you might see at a Clinton Anderson Walkabout Tour? Here are some of my favorite moments from the Fresno, CA Tour stop August 4th & 5th, 2012.The sound system was superb and there wasn’t a bad seat in the house! Most of these photos were taken from the comfort of my own seat of which there was not a bad one in the house!

Gettin Hay 2012

December 12, 2012 by John Leave a Comment

Here in California it’s time for Gettin Hay. I went out to the field this morning, watched them pick up my bales right from the field and bring them home. It’s fascinating machinery and thought you might want to see how it is done. Once they pick up the stack of alfalfa hay they deliver to our home about 3 or 4 miles from the field

At Ethel’s Old Corral The Harley Invasion

December 12, 2012 by John Leave a Comment

We’ve made our own John & Ranae Signature Horses using the Method. Meet Dusty and Jessie. Sorry, these horses aren’t for sale. We had ridden out to Ethel’s Old Corral, a popular hangout for both horses and Harleys. The place was empty when we arrived and we were thinking we would have a nice quiet lunch on the patio. Just after we got the horses tied up, a group of 40-50 bikers came roaring in. The group was just stopping for about 30 minutes and then heading out to their next venue. Over lunch Ranae and I talked about whether or not to film the motorcycles leaving. We would either have the greatest “horse blowing up” video on youtube or the most boring video ever posted. Near the end of the video you’ll see one rider ride directly to the hitching post. He saw me filming and was going to put Dusty and Jessie to the test. And no, that’s not me singing in the background.

Breakaway From Cancer

Breakaway From Cancer

Breakaway From Cancer Today we are doing something a little different. Often, I get requests from someone to be on the show. They have a good book, a new piece of tack, or a good cause. There's not enough content for an entire show, but it's worthwhile information I think you's like to know. Since I'm producing a long version every other week, I thought I'd experiment with a short podcast in between. Let me know what you think. Beth … [Read More...]
